Do you want to go to the movies to see “Christmas with The Chosen?”

The record-breaking first multi-season, crowd-funded TV series about Jesus moves to movie theaters December 1-10 (unless Fathom Events extends it beyond its 10-night run). So we gratefully accepted the opening night gift.

“I do believe we have this as a constant agenda item: it’s not us, it’s Him,” Derral Eves, the show’s executive producer, told Faithwire.

The film is essentially the story of Jesus’s birth told in real-time and through a fast-forward to 48 AD with an aging Mary telling the “rest of her story” to Luke via Mary Magdalen, in a new “Chosen” episode.

The episode (which will air for TV viewers after the film’s theatrical run) is also a modern “Christmas special” of big music stars singing up-tempo modern renditions of traditional Christmas songs on the ancient world set the creators built in Utah.

The film also includes monologues from the cast to bring the total run-time to 124 minutes. In addition, the movie set a Fathom…
