A new book (and related film) tells the rest of this struggle between the loving Culture of Life and the walking wounded who feel “used,’’ on a grander global stage: “The Divine Plan: John Paul II and the Dramatic End of the Cold Warby Paul Kengor and Robert Orlando.

In “Unplanned,’’ we meet a young Abby Johnson, who found herself being used, leading to two abortions (one surgical, one chemical) and an eight-year career at Planned Parenthood. Angry, name-calling protesters only make her gravitate more toward prioritizing women’s rights over the other side of the story of her actions.

Her family and a different set of Christian protesters offered constant prayers, love and slowly broke into Abby’s heart.
