The theme song asks, “Is that all there is?” But Robert Orlando wants more, the hidden “Rosebud” revealing the point and purpose of a character’s life.
Orlando seeks to find Trump’s Rosebud, that one story — or thing — motivating a man, just as Citizen Kane (the favorite film of both Orlando and Trump) showed a search to figure out Charles Foster Kane after he whispered “Rosebud” on his deathbed (Kane’s Rosebud was a sled he loved in a left-behind childhood).
Trump, too, notes, “the name Rosebud has captivated viewers for so many years.”
