A combination of drama, documentary and graphic novel style art — with the rapid fire of video war games — and the authority and depth of America’s greatest historians and moral leaders are combined in The Divine Plan. The film debuts nationwide November 6.

The film shows how everyone plays a role in a bigger drama. We forget the minor actors called to play major roles on the global stage: the ship yard electrician, the atheist bureaucrat secretly baptized and named after St. Michael, the quiet son of the town drunk and the actor who became a saint.

“We have it in our power to begin the world over again,’’ Ronald Reagan often said. The Divine Plan shows exactly how and why we could do so just 30 years ago.

We think today’s politics are the worst. We forget (or never truly knew) the young actor who faced American communists after World War II.
