Thanks for the comments, Ken. You reminded me of something I learned in graduate school. Researchers found that when a doctor tells you, “You have to stop doing (insert bad behavior) or you will die,” the warning is quickly forgotten. They found we’re more likely to make a change when we are given a list of several positive benefits for doing something like changing a diet.
