Thank you for the great question. I didn’t even think about it until you asked. I just did a quick search and was surprised to see these stats from 2017–2018 NHANES Data:

  • You’re correct, more men than women are overweight (34 percent of men vs. 27 percent of women).
  • But I was surprised to see the obesity numbers are pretty comparable (43 percent of men and 42 percent of women).
  • Here’s what shocked me: This says women outnumber men for being “severely obese”): (11.5 percent of women and 6.9 percent of men).
