One of our favorite dogs was named Marty (our son loved Back to the Future so named him after Marty McFly)...

Years later, he grew up and wanted to name his new dog Marty but his wife thought that was bad luck so he named him Emmett (after Marty McFly's friend, Doc Emmett Brown). :)
