Nice essay. The beauty of the Book of Job is how God changes the conversation. "The root of all evil is 'I,' 'me' and 'mine'" (Padre Pio said) and the beauty of the Book of Job is that Job spends much of the book talking about himself.

Lots of I, me, and mine. His friends similarly focus on Job: what he did or didn't do. How can you have a conversation with someone but only talk about yourself? There has to be something bigger.

So God flips it all around and simply asks Job (in the words of Paul McCartney) to "try to see it My Way." And when we stop focusing on ourselves and start thinking about life from the view of the other, especially the One who is bigger than us, all perspectives (and outcomes) change quickly.
