Kira: Thank you for reading my work and for your thoughtful response. Such important questions. My thoughts: St. John Paul said we are each unique and unrepeatable created by God for a purpose. Father John Riccardo says EVERYTHING God creates is good (including us) and everything is a gift from God. However, God gives us free will to choose including the ability to choose to accept what God is offering us or to reject it and so the only thing truly are own, Father Riccardo says, is own own sin, our own choices to miss the mark and reject those God-given gifts, that inheritance available to us. So I think we all can be chosen but love is two way and mutual so we must choose to accept (and not reject) those gifts as well. So one of my favorite prayers is to go before God and “What do you want me to do God?’’ Our pastor, Father Mathias, tells us to ask God “How do you want me to love?’’
