Flashback: It's fall 1983 and my college newspaper was dominated by a group of feminist editors who made the lede story (stripped across the top of page 1) a speculative story predicting the Democrat nominee might choose a woman running mate in 1984. People howled about the play of that story, showing the bias of the editors. I never forgot it because the following summer, Walter Mondale picked Geraldine Ferraro as his running mate. So the feminists were prophets with that premature call (even thought the placement showed their own thinking).
