Excellent essay Ryan. Perhaps one reason Jesus doesn't belong to one side or the other? Imagine how you personally would react to every single person in this debate knowing that they also happen to be yours: family you personally created and you happen to love every one of them dearly (which is why they tell us to hate the sin and love the sinner). Pride is the first sin and there's a saying that everyone wants to change the world (the other people) but no one wants to change themselves. And yet, God created all of us for a reason. Great essay.
