Amen! I totally agree. Last fall, I had great luck with the Catholic Classics podcast: Two priests read and explained "Introduction to the Devout Life" by St. Francis DeSales (they're doing something similar with other classics). Some of the oldest books can seem a little daunting, but having thoughtful experts read along and explain it helped, especially when you can adjust the playback speed to make it faster or slower.
